The device can also be manually triggered, providing versatility in emergency situations.

To maintain the Restube Automatic, the Restube Automatic Rearming Kit is recommended. This kit includes a regular Restube CO2 cartridge, a trigger unit for water activation, and a secure clip. Note that a belt is not included, as it is generally unnecessary.
The Restube Automatic inflates upon water contact, thanks to its integrated water sensor and manual trigger option. For repacking, an original CO2 cartridge and water activator are required. Despite its robust functionality, the device is lightweight enough to be thrown over distances, making it a versatile tool for various rescue scenarios.
While the Restube Automatic provides significant buoyancy (75N) for an adult and can be inflated by mouth, it is important to note that it is not a Coast Guard-approved life vest. It does not provide head or body support and is not suitable for unconscious individuals. Instead, it serves as a flotation swim buoy, offering a reliable resting point and ease of swimming for those in need.
